We recently watched a video in Social Studies about in the 1970s when the Native Americans took over Wounded Knee. They basically blocked off all roads leading to town, raided restaurants and houses and held people hostage. They were armed and were ready for violence if needed.
I think this is basically Occupy Wall Street about 40 years ago. It's true what people say about how history repeats itself. It is the same in that a group of people with something in common feel that something needs to change, whether it is money or land, but it is different because the Native Amerians were at a point of violence without thought. They raided a woman's shop for everything out of pure rage when she didn' have anything to do with what they were mad about. They held innocent people hostage. In Occupy Wall Street, there isn't extreme violence or anger against innocent people. Just anger towards the Government.
It is scary for me to think about how if history repeats itself, how many awful things could happen again. If all the wars and the horrors and injustices and stereotypes and assumptions happen again, the world will be a horrid place to be.
