Hunger Games: Just Started

I just started The Hunger Games and with all the talk about it I have a really high expectation. So far it is really good. Even thought  there hasn't really been any action packed scenes, just the idea of the story intrigues me and I understand when everyone talks about not being able to stop reading.

I am not always the one to read late into the night, but I wish I was, and I really want to become someone able to. That is why I am extremely excited to begin these books so I can experience the pleasure of this series.

The book immediately shows the world Katniss lives in. Her world seems full of structure. Everyday is the same. With hunting, gathering, and fishing.

It also shows how forceful the government is. Even though their world is structured, it doesn't mean they don't have lively days, especially if they participate in the Hunger Games.  The way they put kids in danger for a "game" is horrifying.

I begin to wonder if the author is trying to show that things like this happen in the real world. The hunger that they suffer. The all-to-powerful government? The war? The hate? The discrimination? The author hides real world issues in a thrilling story even in the first few pages.

Overall I am excited to begin the adventure of The Hunger Gams with Katniss because of it's reputation but also it's wisdom and message.

  1. I see that you have thought deeply even since the first few pages of the book and I agree with your thoughts. Also it seems that the people who put the children in the Hunger Game are cruel, ruthless people.

  2. It's really exciting to see someone who's so enthusiastic about the Hunger Games, even though you haven't reached the action part yet. Most people don't realize the in fact, the complex plot is another thing that makes the Hunger Games trilogy so well written and addictive. I promise that you'll be very pleasantly surprised when you reach the action!
